Fly tying is one of the most enjoyable and relaxing hobbies that
you can imagine. Plus, there is no better pleasure than to catch
a fish with a fly that you tied yourself. Eastern Trophies Fly
Fishing and The
Trophy Room are once again offering Fly Tying instruction.
These classes will feature VMI (Video Monitored Instruction). As the instructor teaches the
class, their fly is projected on a video monitor so the students have a clear view of the step
by step process of tying each fly. Your instructor, William Heresniak has a
graduate degree in education, and he is also a fly fishing guide for Eastern Trophies Fly Fishing.
An introductory class will center on the Elk Hair Caddis, Pheasant Tail Nymph, Blue Wing, Olive
Nymph, Clouser Minnow, Woolly Bugger, San Juan Worm, Clouser Minnow, and others.
An intermediate class will center on the Mickey Finn, Yellow Butt Monkey, Deceiver,
Flash Fly Clouser, Warbird, Wool Headed Sculpin, Zonker, and others. Previous tying experience will be helpful.
Additional Classes on Smallmouth Bass flies and Trophy Trout Flies will also be offered.
The registration fee is $100.00 ($80.00 for Northern
Virginia Trout Unlimited members), which entitles you to

Video Monitored Instruction (The instructor's fly is shown up close on a video
monitor so each student can follow as if they had a fly being tied right in front of
them.

The classes are being held at The
Trophy Room at 210 King Street in Alexandria, Virginia.
