State: VA Current Rating: Fair
County: County Last Updated: Aug 15, 2010

The river is flowing very low. A lot of grass will make fishing tough. Best to fish away from weekends to avoid tubes. Black poppers have been taking fish on the surface. Kreelex flies, flash fly clouser and clawdads have been producing some fish subsurface. If you register on the forum and email your username and address to us, we will send you a free flash fly clouser. This fly has caught 75% of the trophy trout on our website.
We fish the areas of both Forks of the Shenandoah from Rt 33 to Front Royal. Depending on water flows and water conditions we can provide productive fishing for clients even during high water flows and poor water clarity. Our NRS sport raft handles class 4 rapids easily and we can maneuver into areas where one may not be able to wade. Spring of 2003 was a very productive time for us. Numerous clients landed Smallmouth Bass in the 4-6 lbs. class using larger patterns and fishing the eddies with Southern exposure. Check out our catolog for some of the more productive patterns. There are other patterns coming soon. We can also do longer floats and just keep moving during the day en order to cover the distance. High water is preferable on the longer trips. Take a look at our services page for rates and other information.
